Cherished Hearts offers celebrant services for unique and heartfelt ceremonies in Dorset, with a special touch of poetry and meaning.
Hello, I'm Lyn
I'm a celebrant based in beautiful Dorset, passionate about creating ceremonies that are as individual as the people they celebrate. Whether you're celebrating a wedding, renewing your vows, welcoming a new baby into the world with a naming ceremony, or saying farewell to a loved one, I'll help you create a truly personal and meaningful experience.
With my background in writing and a genuine love for storytelling, I'll create an enchanting and heartfelt ceremony. I weave your stories, values, and wishes into a captivating narrative that reflects the significance of the occasion.
I'm known for my warm personality, attention to detail, and ability to create a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Get in touch to learn more about how I can make your special event truly unforgettable.

What's the difference between a
Celebrant and a Registrar?
CEREMONY
Registrar: A registrar conducts a legally binding ceremony, usually at a licensed venue or registry office. The ceremony is standardised, with some room for personalisation. You’ll likely hear the same script that other couples have heard that day!
Celebrant (That’s Me!): A celebrant creates an entirely bespoke ceremony, written just for you. It can be as funny, romantic, quirky, heartfelt or traditional as you like. You can have it anywhere – beach, woodland, your nan’s garden, a castle, or your back garden. It’s your story, your way.
LEGALITIES
Registrar: Handles the legal side of the marriage.
Celebrant: I focus on the ceremonial aspects of the celebration. Most couples simply pop to the registry office for the quick legal bit (like registering a birth), then have their “real” wedding with me, in front of all their favourite people.
COST
Registrar: Costs vary by location, but a basic ceremony at a registry office might be around £50–£170. A registrar visiting your venue can cost £600+ or more, depending on the day and time.
Celebrant: My prices start from £600. This includes:

-
A completely tailored ceremony and a personalised poem about your love story.
You can read my reviews here.
-
Unlimited planning support - A keepsake script
-
All the time in the world for your unique story
-
And unlike a registrar, I don’t clock-watch.
If you’re 10 minutes late fixing your lashes, I’ll be cheering you on, not rushing you along!
UNIQUENESS
Registrar: Cannot include religious or spiritual content, personal vows (unless pre-approved), or rituals like handfasting or unity candles.
Celebrant: The world’s your oyster! Want to include your dog as ring bearer? Done. Celebrate both your heritages? Beautiful. Add a handfasting, jump the broom, or write your own hilarious vows? Yes, please. Your ceremony will be as unique and unforgettable as your love story!
Hear My Words
Your ceremony is incredibly personal, and you want the words spoken to have meaning and resonate with your story and experiences. I spend time getting to know you and collecting all the details that go towards making your celebration or occasion deeply meaningful.
You can listen to some of my previous ceremonies to hear how I weave personal details into heartfelt prose.
